On Saturday 21st February we celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the Trust with a fabulous garden party on the lawn at le Phare Bleu hotel and restaurant, Egmont.
Graduates of the programme, current students, Trustees, sponsors and friends all assembled to bear witness to three decades of assistance provided by the Trust to young people seeking to achieve their full potential through education.
Trust president Mrs Jean Robinson told us how she and her husband, Jim, decided to launch the Trust which has raised more than 1 million ECs and assisted approximately 1000 young people since 1996.
Livingston Frazer and Toria Calliste both spoke eloquently about how the Trust helped them on their journey to becoming fully qualified medical doctors, both now working at Grenada’s hospital.
Ken Peters, currently working at Co-operative Bank, also chatted to sponsors about the impact of the Trust on his own education.
Other students and alumni and supporters provided cakes, snacks and welcoming glasses of Pimm’s.
We send our grateful thanks to all who supported this event – in particular the management of Le Phare Bleu who provided the location and excellent staff and also organised the very generous raffle prizes.
A big Than You, too, to Livingston for the wonderful music provided by his band and to DJ Michael Hutchinson for his fabulous sounds.
Everyone enjoyed the afternoon, but best of all we raised nearly EC 7,000 through the raffle and a Lucky Dip which will help the Trust continue its work into the future.
