Supplies arrivedTrust enlists Royal Navy’s help for hurricane relief

Royal Navy frigate, HMS Cumberland, stepped in to help the J.J. Robinson Trust bring much-needed relief supplies to Grenada in the wake of Hurricane Ivan.

Supporters of the Trust in the UK collected large quantities of school equipment, books and medical supplies which HMS Cumberland picked up in Portsmouth and delivered to Grenada during a visit to the island in September 2005 as part of a four-month humanitarian aid and counter narcotics trade operation in the Caribbean.

In February 2006 the Royal Navy provided further help in the shape of a consignment of educational books – with a promise from the Navy librarian of more books to come in future.
