booksNew focus on Books and Computers

The Trust has donated thousands of dollars worth of school reference books to six of Grenada’s  schools over the past year. The books were purchased from the visiting educational ship Logus 2 to help start or improve school libraries across the island.
Mr Alex Phillips, Principal of Wesley College, one of the  schools to receive the books, said they would be a very welcome addition to the school’s recently finished library building. He is pictured with Mrs Jean Robinson and a pupil taking delivery of the books.
The Trust also aims to help bring more computer equipment into schools and recently worked with the British High Commission to allocate two used computers to St Andrews Anglican High School. Through its support group in the UK the Trust is also advertising for donations of unwanted laptops which can be brought to Grenada and put to use in schools.
“With most secondary schools in Grenada now providing their pupils with school books, the Trust is able to spend more on books for college students and on exam fees, as well as donations of books and equipments for educational establishments,” said Mrs Robinson.
